World Book Day is a brilliant opportunity for everyone to celebrate the joy of reading. Reading and sharing stories is the perfect lockdown activity for everyone to enjoy! At school , on World Book Day, we held a range of fun reading-based activities, including a whole school assembly with a ‘masked reader’ competition, and the children had to guess which member of staff was reading a book.
Children currently in school, were invited to come to school dressed up as a character from a book and there was a fantastic range of costumes that could be seen around the classrooms. Even the staff took the opportunity to dress up. Children at home were also invited to dress as a book character for the day, and we have some lovely pictures to share .
