Meon Junior School is a 3 form entry junior school set in a large school building in Southsea and a member of The Thinking Schools Academy Trust. We currently have just under 360 pupils on roll. The school is set in a busy urban area a short distance from the seafront. The majority of our children transfer from either Meon Infant School or Moorings Way Infant School, but some do come from other local infant schools.
We have strong community ties with local churches, charities and other organisations. We also have strong links with support agencies such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
We participate in a variety of local events, including many of the Inter-School sports tournaments on offer across Portsmouth.
We have strong links with Chichester University, mentoring students and trainee teachers and supporting students to undertake research at the school.
We are part of a strong local network of schools to ensure all our children across the city access quality first teaching.
Meon Junior School has an active parents fundraising group named Friends of Meon School (FOMS) who work hard to support the work of the school.
Our Governing body plays an active role in shaping the future of the school and can regularly been seen on site.
